California

Personal

We bought plane tickets to California 2 weeks before the world shutdown in March of 2020. I remember feeling hesitant but also having NO idea what Covid was. I remember saying to Evan, “We’ll just play it safe, wash our hands a lot, and bring extra hand sanitizer. We will be fine!” Little did I know!

Vaccines, a plethora of wine, and a year and a half later, we finally made it to the Golden Coast. It truly is incredible how our appreciation for travel (and so much more) has changed during this CRAZY TIME!

Below, I’ve listed a few of our favorite adventures & memories in California.

– Baker Beach, Karl the Fog, Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, Sea Lions at Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, Painted Ladies Tour, Hot chocolate at Ghirardelli Square, Union Square, Lunch at the Japanese Tea Garden, Palace of Fine Arts, Marina District, North Beach, Crissy Field, Sunset boat tour on the Adventure Cat, King Crab, Muir Woods National Monument, Twin Peaks, Alamo Park, and the Painted Ladies.

Sonoma:
– El Dorado Hotel, Viansa Winery, Gun Bun Winery, Chateau St. Jean Winery, Kunde Winery, and The Girl and the Fig.

Carmel:
– Pacific Grove, Big Sur, Bixby Creek Bridge, Downtown Carmel, Carmel Coffee House, Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, Folktale Winery and Vineyards, Ocean Ave, and Highway 1.
